Maesteg finished bottom and were relegated to Division 1 whilst Pontypool, who won Division 1 East took their place in the Premiership for 2008/2009 season as they passed the criteria for entry to the Premiership, and did not have to compete in a playoff with the winners of Division 1 West (Tonmawr) for the Premiership place as Tonmawr failed to meet the criteria.

2007/2008 season format - 4 Points for a Win (W), 2 Points for a Draw (D), 0 Points for a Loss (L). Also introduced this season for the first time in the Premiership is the use of Bonus Points, a team will be awarded 1 Bonus Point (B.P.) for scoring 4 or more tries in a game. There is also a bonus point available for a team losing a match and finishing within 7 points of the winners.
